The 1838's first edition of the Ordnance Survey's 6-inch map shows County Mayo in the boundaries before the Local Government reform of 1898, i.e. before townlands were transferred from Sligo (east of Ballina) and Galway (southwest of Lough Mask) to Mayo and from Mayo to Roscommon.
The current version was developed and tested for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5+ under Windows 98 - XP. The map display requires SVG-Viewer, a free plugin from Adobe. If you're in doubt if it's installed on your computer and that you've got the right version please go to our SVG-Viewer installation web page.
You can access the map system through its Search Window or links in townlands and towns web pages. Where would you like to start?
