Bad Winds is an exhibition of 30 photographs. The exhibition is intended to convey imagery of the effects of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2006 in rural Louisiana. Most media emphasis on the hurricane damage in 2006 focused on the damage sustained in New Orleans. While the impact on the city was unparalleled in modern times, rural areas along the coast were devastated as well. All along the Louisiana coast, homes were destroyed, farmlands were contaminated by saltwater, cattle were lost to the flood waters and a way of life altered.  Nine different photographers spent countless hours toiling in the Louisiana flood waters to capture the misery brought by the hurricanes. These photographs show the effects of Nature's fury.

This event is brought to Ireland in a collaboration between Mayo Art Squad and Cite des Arts in Lafayette, Louisiana.
