Ballina will be buzzing on Easter Saturday and the centre of this hive of activity will be the Jackie Clarke Collection. Bee Creative in Ballina is a fun-filled family day to celebrate our wild bees. There will be creative workshops, displays, music, food, competitions, face-painting, an Easter egg hunt, and more. And a Bee in your Bonnet competition with a prize for the person wearing the most creative Easter costume. All events are free and all are welcome.

Bees and other pollinating insects are a vital part of our natural heritage. But they are in decline in Ireland because they do not have enough food to eat or places to live. We need these pollinators to grow our own fruits and vegetables, to supply affordable produce and for the wildflowers that bring colour to our landscape. Everyone, from farmers to schoolchildren can help save our bees. The beautiful Victorian walled garden at the Jackie Clarke Collection is the perfect urban oasis to focus on our bees. There will be workshops, demonstrations, videos and books on display during Bee Creative in Ballina day so that, as well as having lots of fun, we can all learn more about how we can protect our bees. All events are free and all are welcome.
