Ballina Library is delighted to host an evening with author Anakana Schofield on Tuesday 15th April at 8pm.

Vancouver based Anakana or AK for short is a writer of fiction, essays and literary criticism.

Malarky, her first novel, won the First Novel Award, the Debut-Litzer Prize for Fiction, was selected as a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Pick, and was shortlisted for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize. It has also been named on sixteen different Best Books of the Year lists.

Released in July 2013, Malarky is a darkly comic, fast-paced novel structured as a series of 20 episodes. The book plunges the reader into the story of ‘Our Woman’, the novel’s primary narrator, who tackles grief, lust, infidelity, and madness while scrubbing the floors of her country farmhouse and visiting Ballina Library.

Feel free to also visit to Ballina Library on April 15th and check out one of the liveliest new talents in fiction around.
