Mayo County Council Arts Office is delighted to announce Eoghan Mac Giolla Bhríde as Mayo County Council Writer in Residence 2012. As part of the residency Eoghan will give a public reading of his work in Castlebar Library.

Writer Eoghan hails from Gaoth Dobhair in Donegal. He’s written two collections of short stories; Idir Feoil is Leathar (2002) and Díbeartaigh (2005), both published by Coiscéim. Recently he played the lead role in the feature film Silence, produced by Harvest Films and South Wind Blows, which he co-wrote with the director Pat Collins and Sharon Whooley. The film premiered at the Jameson International Film Festival in Dublin in February and Eoghan received the Michael Dwyer Discovery Award for his part in the film. This is a free event and all are welcome to come along on the evening
