Seachtain na Gaeilge is a festival which celebrates the Irish language and culture. It doesn't matter if you are a fluent speaker or just beginning to learn the language, give it a go!

There's lots happening in the libraries of Mayo this year for Seachtain na Gaeilge, with children from the local national schools enjoying seisiúin scéalaíochta – storytime with Sheena Duddy and taking part in Ceardlanna Drámaíochta with Rosaleen Ní Shúileabháin and Ros na Rún’s Lochlann Ó Mearáin.

Ballina Library will host a Ciorcal Craic at 2.15 on Thursday 8 March -take the opportunity to call in check out their display of books written by Mayo writers in Ballina Library, everything from Raiftearaí to Ó Raghallaigh, from folklore collections to picture books for children.

Kick off the St. Patrick’s day celebrations early this year and call into Charlestownlibrary on Friday March 16th for a night of ceol agus craic!
