Internationally renowned illustrator and artist P. J. Lynch will deliver an illustrated talk on his work in Westport library on Saturday next November 13th at 2.00pm. The event which is part of the Rolling Sun Festival, is a once-off opportunity to meet this award winning artist.

PJ has won many awards including the Mother Goose Award, the Christopher Medal three times and the prestigious Kate Greenaway Medal on two occasions. "The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey"” has sold more than a million copies in the United States alone, and has recently been made into a motion picture.  In recent years PJ has been commissioned to design posters for Opera Ireland and the Abbey Theatre. He has also designed several sets of stamps for An Post.  PJ Lynch has lectured on his own work and on Art and Illustration at the National Gallery of Ireland, The National Library of Ireland and at the National Print Museum of Ireland, as well as at numerous conferences and colleges across the U.S.

The talk on Saturday next is aimed particularly at art students studying for the Leaving Cert but all those with an interest in art are welcome. The event starts at 2.00pm and will last for over an hour. Booking is not essential for individuals but groups should book by calling 094 9047923 or 9047922.
