Grow it Yourself groups are local food growers networks that recreate the camraderie of allotment growing for back-garden vegetable growers by getting them together on a regular basis to learn from each other, exchange tips, war stories and produce.

GIY membership is free and open to anyone interested in growing food at all levels, be it some herbs on a balcony to complete self-sufficiency...complete beginners to old hands! The plan is to establish a GIY group in every town in Ireland.

GIY is a non-profit organisation which promotes and facilitates back garden food growing. It also acts as an umbrella group to keep local GIY groups connected.

So come along on Wednesday evening to the follow-up GIY meeting for Ballina. The inaugaral meeeting in May was a big success and this meeting will be the perfect starting point for anyone interested in growing it yourself in 2010!
