Equal Status Statement
Mayo County Council...uncompromising for promoting quality of life in Mayo.
We in Mayo County Council are committed to providing a service that is accessible and relevant to all our customers, accommodates needs and aspirations specific to particular groups of customers and seeks equality of outcome. We will continue to consult with our customers to ensure that their access needs are addressed and we will continue to provide appropriate staff training to all frontline staff.
In Mayo County Council we want to provide all our citizens with quality service. We know that our citizens may be different on the basis of age, gender, religion, race, membership of the Traveller community, disability, sexual orientation, marital status and family status. We will make sure that we uphold equality legislation (such as the Equal Status Act, as amended, 2004) and work to remove any barriers that prevent groups or individuals from accessing our services. Staff training will be carried out so that we can better understand and respond to these different needs.
If we are not living up to our commitment please let us know by using the Mayo County Council complaints procedure or complaints under the disability Act 2005. Details of both of these procedures are available on our website.
