Fás e-Learning at the Library
- FÁS E-Learning at the Library Project
FÁS in partnership with the Mayo Library Service are delighted to introduce the ‘FÁS E-Learning at the Library Project’ to the libraries of Ballina, Swinford and Castlebar. This learning programme has been developed by FÁS for people with little or no IT skills as well as those with a higher skill level and will be delivered FREE OF CHARGE by trained facilitators. E-Learning at the library is a wonderful opportunity for people to develop and improve their IT skills at a pace that suits them best. Each learner will be assigned a FÁS facilitator who will help them to get to grips with computer and Internet basics through the use of facilitated workshops/classes.
Please select Fás e-Learning at the Library for more information and how to book your free session.
Computers for the older Person:
To help celebrate the annual Bealtaine Festival, Mayo County Library organizes "Introduction to Computers" courses in a number of libraries.
The courses are FREE and aimed at Active Age groups and senior citizens with great emphasis being placed on de-mystifying "this whole computer business". If required a participant is shown how to use the 'mouse' and allowed time and space to become comfortable with it's movement before moving on to the next topic. The atmosphere is one of patience, pleasure and enjoyment and any residual 'fear' of computers is gradually broken down. Without doubt the Bealtaine Festival "Introduction to Computers" courses are a resounding success and indicates a definite need amongst the active age community to play an active part in the IT revolution. As courses are scheduled details appear in the What's On section and also in the local press.
