LizardTech / Celartem DjVu-Viewer Installation
Introduction
LizardTech / Celartem's free Viewer for DjVu files can be used in a similar way as Adobe's Acrobat Reader for PDF files, i.e. as a plugin to extend the abilities of a webbrowser or as a standalone application.
DjVu Display Test

If a File Download dialogue opens (instead of a new window displaying the image above) then the DjVu-Viewer isn't installed on your PC yet.
If the displayed image looks wrong - for example, it is upside down - then an older DjVu-Viewer is installed on your PC and you should update it.
Version Check
For opening the DjVu files on this website properly in LizardTech / Celartem's DjVu-Viewer the installed version on your PC should be 6.1.1 or later. To check the version number of your installed DjVu-Viewer you can use the Display Test above. Click on the test image to open a DjVu-Viewer window. Then right click somewhere on the displayed map to open the context menu. Select "Help > About...".
Download and Installation
You can install the DjVu-Viewer plugin in two ways: Immediate Installation or Installation After Saved Download. The first option is the quickest, but the second allows you to repeat an installation without another download.
Immediate Installation
- Go to the LizardTech / Celartem website to kick-off the download procedure for the free DjVu plugin. (This link opens a new window.)
- Select in the LizardTech / Celartem installation web page(s) the right DjVu plugin options for your PC.
- Click on the RUN button to start the download.
- In the next dialogue, click again on the RUN button to start the installation.
- Try above's Display Test.
- This should open a new window where you have to accept the LizardTech / Celartem Software License Agreement for the DjVu plugin. Accept it by clicking on the OK button.
- You should now see in the new window an enlarged version of above's image.
Installation After Saved Download
- Go to the LizardTech / Celartem website to kick-off the download procedure for the free DjVu plugin. (This link opens a new window.)
- Select in the LizardTech / Celartem installation web page(s) the right DjVu plugin options for your PC.
- In the opening dialogue box click on the SAVE button.
- Choose a location for the installation file in the next dialogue window.
- Press the OK button to start the download.
- In the next dialogue, click again on the RUN button to start the installation.
- Try above's Display Test.
- This should open a new window where you have to accept the LizardTech / Celartem Software License Agreement for the DjVu plugin. Accept it by clicking on the OK button.
- You should now see in the new window an enlarged version of above's image.
- In the future, when you might have to repeat the installation, you can skip the download and run the saved installation file directly. Please note that such an installation will NOT be executed if there is still a web page open, which displays a DjVu file.
