The Irish Tourist Association Survey for Toomore parish was completed by Donal Faughnan in 1944. The only town in the parish is Foxford, population at the time according to the 1936 census was 625. From a tourism point of view, the most interesting features of the parih would have been the scenic views from various vantage points near foxford, and the numerous antiquities in the area. Two notable personalities from the parish were Sr. Agnes Morrogh Bernard, founder of the Providence Woollen Mills and Admiral William Brown, founder of the Argentinian Navy.
