The surveyor, Donal Faughnan, amalgamated the parishes of Robeen and Kilcommon (Kilmaine Barony) into one report. From a tourism point of view there were few amenities, the main attractions being numerous antiquities and the sports of shooting and fishing. The only villages deemed worthy of inclusion in the survey were Hollymount and Roundfort, with populations at the time (1945) of 200 and 50 respectively.
