Historic sites in Mayo Abbey and Rosslee parishes from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1945
Most of the items of historical interest in the Mayo Abbey and Rosslee survey are covered in the antiquities section, (see link below). Here there are brief notes on significant personalities associated with the parish - St. Gerald, St. Adamnan and mention of a tradition that Alfred the Great was educated in Mayo abbey and that one of his sons is buried there.
