Curiosities and patterns in Lacken parish, from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1943
Under the heading of "Curiosities" in the survey of Lacken parish, there is a description of "The Gazebo", a construction of unknown origin, around 20 feet high. It is likely to have been erected by the Knox family and is located behind Castlelacken. The claim that is was built as a means of providing work during the famine is not valid as O'Donovan mentions it in the Ordnance Survey letters which predated the famine.
Two patterns are listed at St. Cummin's Well on last Sunday in July and St. Patrick's Well, Foghill. The latter is also known as Tobar na Craoibhe.
