Natural features of Kiltane parish, from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1943
Bangor Erris is the chief centre of Kiltane parish, an area of wild mountain and moorland. There are numerous beaches and bathing places in the area. Other features described are the Owenmore River, Carowmore Lake and the views from Tristia or Mount Jubilee.
