The survey for Kilmovee parish was carried out by Donal Faughnan in 1944. As with most predominantly rural parishes, by far the most substantial section of the survey is devoted to descriptions of the antiquities of the parish. Chief among those is Urlaur Abbey. The only village of note in the survey is Kilkelly.
