Sports and games in Kilmoremoy parish, from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1942

Sports facilities in Kilmoremoy parish at the time of the survey included angling on the river Moy and the Bunree river and various sports clubs in Ballina. Among these were Ballina Stephenites G.A.A. Club, Ballina Tennis Club, billiards clubs, Ballina Boat Club, Ballina Golf Club, Ballina Coursing Club, Ballina Athletic and Cycling Club. There is also mention of shooting and an annual point-to-point race meeting at Dooneen.
