Natural features of Kilmore-Erris parish, from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1943
The parish of Kilmore-Erris occupies the entire Mullet peninsula and the surveyor describes in some detail the various natural attractions in the area and various routes are suggested . Apart from the scenery, intersting features mentioned in the description include the Napoleonic watch tower near Blind Harbour, Ballyglass and Eagle Island lighthouses, ancient fortifications at Doonamoo Point, Bingham Castle and the toy factory at Elly Bay.
