The Irish Tourist Association survey for Kilgarvan parish was completed by Donal Faughnan in 1944. In common with many similar predominantly rural parishes there were not many tourist amenities. The only village mentioned is Bonniconlon. the main attractions in the area were the numerous antiquities and also angling facilities.
