Antiquities in Kilfian parish, from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1942
There is just one antiquity listed for the parish of Kilfian. This is what the surveyor judges to be an old Norman keep located at Rathroe. Little is known of its history, though it has been mentioned that it was built in 1410. the fortress was supposed to have been occupied by two local warring factions, the Lynotts and Barretts. There is a short descrisption of the structure.
