Notes on historical sites in Islandeady Parish from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1945
There is further information here on the church ruins in Annagh, Islandeady, mainly dealing with the traditional associations with St. Patrick. Under the heading for Historic houses / Burial places there is an item about Granuaile's second marriage which, according to O'Donovan's Letters was to Islandeady native, John Burke. However the surveyor notes that historicalyy, her second marriage was to Risteard an Iarainn. there are also notes on St Eiden, after whom the parish is named, St. Patrick and St. Finnian.
