Antiquities in Carracastle parish from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1944
The list of antiquities in the survey for the parish of Carracastle is as follows:
- Cashelled souterrain in Shrah:- Obscured by scrub. Brief description of dimensions of souterrain. Said that the space enclosed by the surrounding wall was used as an infants’ burial ground.
- Fort of 25 yards diameter in Castleduff
- Single-passage souterraisn in Calvagh and Cloonfane
- Ruin of building in Cloonmore. Known as the “Summer-house”. Said to have been a summer dwelling erected by the Phillips family.
- Field in Cloonmore said to have been a children’s burial ground.
- A well in Cloonmore said to have been dedicated to St. Attracta.
