Details of sports and games in Newport from the Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1942
There are entries in this section for Newport and Mallaranny. As usual, angling is dealt with in detail, but there were not many sports clubs or facilities besides. Included in the list are Newport G.A.A. club, Newport annual regatta, Mallaranny Golf Club and private billiards, tennis and table tennis in the G.S.R. Hotel, Mallaranny.
