First page of the Irish Tourist Association Survey for Burriscarra and Ballintober, 1945

The parishes of Burriscarra and Ballintober, or Ballintubber, were dealt with jointly in the survey. These parishes contain no towns or villages so there are no public amenities listed in the survey. No forms were completed for amenities or for accomodation and catering. The main area of interest are antiquities and historical sites, of which there are many. The most notable of these include Ballintober Abbey, Moore Hall, Castlecarra and Burriscarra Abbey. In some cases the detailed architectural descriptions are accompanied by hand-drawn sketches.

The surveyor was Donal Faughnan and he completed this section of the survey in 1945.
