Ballsakeery parish is located between Ballina and Killala. The survey for this parish was carried out by Conor O'Brien and completed in 1943. From a tourism point of view the main attractions at the time were the pleasant scenery, fishing on the Moy, which forms the eatsern boundary of the parish and Rosserk Abbey. There were no towns or villages.
