Amenities in Ballycroy parish, from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1942
The only village in the parish is Ballcroy itself and the surveyor says it was barely worthy of the name with just one shop and the church. Public amenities were very few and included the Church of Irelan church at Castlehill, a dancehall and Drumgalla national school. There was one fair per year, in December.
