Amenities in Attymass parish from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1944
Attymass in 1944 is described in the surveyor's notes as a place that “can hardly be reckoned as a village", with a population of just 35. Understandably, there was little in the way of public amenities apart from the church and national schools.
