The survey of Attymass parish was carried out in 1944 by Donal Faughnan. In common with most of the predominantly rural parishes in Mayo without any large population centre, there was not much in the way of public amenities or tourist facilities. the most substantial part of the survey is devoted to descriptions of the antiquities in the area.
