Mansions, castles and estates in Addergoole parish from Irish Tourist Association Survey, 1942

Under the heading for "Mansions, castles and estates" from the survey for Addergoole parish, there are notes on Massbrook Demesne on the shores of Lough Conn. This house was built around 50 years prior to the survey for a Colonel Johnston. Also mentioned is Castlehill House, described by the surveyor as being of "no great age and indeterminate architecture" and "of no particular interest". At the time of the survey it was owned by a Mr. Rivaz, resident in England.
