Historic sites in Addergoloole parish include: Caffoley townland which tradition has it was the scene of a battle between Queen Maev and a local queen, Nocta; the birthplace of Archbishop John MacHale in Tubbernaveen and the burial place of Fr. conroy, executed in the 1798 rebellion.
