Children's Book Festival
The Children's Book Festival is one of Ireland's biggest arts festivals, with hundreds of free events celebrating children's books happening nationwide in bookshops, libraries, schools, community and arts centres. The Festival places a major focus on children's books and emphasises the message that reading is fun, enjoyable, stimulating and inclusive.
The Festival takes place annually in October and Mayo County Library runs a full and fun programme of events and activities. While events focus on books, they come in all forms including puppet shows, musical stories, magical storytelling and much, much more.
As in previous years the 2011 Children's Book Festival will include a feast of readings, puppet shows, storytelling and loads of competitions, games and activities. All events are FREE.
