Children's Services
All libraries in Mayo provide a dedicated children's area catering for children of all ages – from tiny tots to teenagers. Whether your child likes escaping into a world of fantasy, or prefers to learn more about the world we live in – we have just the book. When you walk through the doors of your local library, you are giving your child access to unlimited other worlds. Reading encourages children to use their imagination, boosts their language skills, gives them empathy for people in difficult situations, and helps them learn more about themselves and the world around them. Best of all – a child who reads is far less likely to utter the two words dreaded by parents everywhere: “I’m bored!”
